Attorney Complaints

If you suspect that a New Jersey attorney has engaged in unlawful and/or unethical conduct, you may file a complaint with the NJ Office of Attorney Ethics (OAE).

You may want to start your research with the New Jersey Rules of Professional Conduct (RPC) by which all NJ attorneys must abide.

Once you have decided which RPC(s) was violated, you can complete an Attorney Grievance Form and send your complaint to the district ethics secretary where the attorney has an office for practice.

At this stage, you may also find Rule 1:20-9(h) helpful.
